How much is too much

My good friend, authoress Patricia M. Terrell recently had a blog spot talking about the notion of quality vs quantity in publication and how many books released in a year would be enough, versus how many are too much and would pre-empt a reader from picking them up.  Do we find this argument valid?  That an author who is releasing a number of titles in a set calendar year has short-changed the readership on the quality in the interest of quantity?  What do you think?

  1. Thanks for the shout-out, Abyrne! The comment by the reader floored me since I’d never heard anyone talk about the quality of an author’s work being linked to its quantity. I personally believe if an author is writing full-time and has had a few books published, they’ve honed their work well enough to write faster and better than they might have in their early career. I think it’s like any other job – the more you do it, the more efficient you become. What is your opinion, Abyrne?
