Blessed are the thankful who seek to serve with joy

I do not believe we need a day to be thankful, but it is a good reminder to us all and Thursday fits the bill so nicely.

Today, I am thankful for everyone who reads this, and everyone who doesn’t…  Those that stop and find a moment of gratitude in the push and shove rat race we call life, and those who haven’t learned yet that it is not what we have, but what we give that is the measure of our worth.  We all have room to grow, and I’m thankful for that adventure too.

With that in mind, here is the thought for this Thankful Thursday, one of my favorites by Brenda Short.

Do not ask to have your life’s load lightened,
But for courage to endure.

Do not ask for fulfillment in all your life,
But for patience to accept frustration.

Do not ask for perfection in all you do,
But for wisdom not to repeat mistakes.

And finally, do not ask for more,
Before saying “Thank You”
For what you have already received.
